Summary Of Project:

The overall objective of the project, which is funded by EU Delegation to Turkey within the framework of Support for Civil Society Networks and Platforms in Turkey Funding Programme, is to enhance informed decision making for climate resilient agriculture through a well-connected network of CSOs working in the field of climate change and agriculture. Specific objectives of the action are to establish a Climate Resilient Agriculture network of CSOs working in the field of climate change and agriculture, and to strengthen capacity of CSOs network for communicating, outreaching and collaborating for climate resilient agriculture in line with the EU environment and climate change and agriculture acquis and policies

Within the project, a network will be established engaging CSOs working in climate change adaptation and agriculture field and trainings will be conducted for capacity building. The network members will be consistently engaged and empowered in communication, collaboration and networking actions in climate resilient agriculture field. A platform will be developed based on the national and local needs benefiting from similar platform practices of EU on climate change adaptation and agriculture. A continuous effort will be made to facilitate the platform for compiling, processing and communicating knowledge and practices on climate resilient agriculture and promoting as a common ground for dialogue and collaboration between government, civil society, and academia and business sectors. Good practices and experiences in EU member states and Turkey will be shared via a study tour and an international workshop, and feed into further strategies and actions in climate resilient agriculture. One of the important components of the project is a financial support programme which will be designed in line with the adaptation requirements in agricultural production. It will help local CSOs to implement conservation and climate resilient agriculture practices. The experiences obtained from the pilot projects will be disseminated via audio-visual and printed materials. Public awareness activities will involve different media tools including a documentary, short films, reference materials, social media accounts.
