Nature Conservation Centre is now a member of Global Soil Partnership!
Nature Conservation Centre in Turkey has officially become a member of the Global Soil Partnership. Established in 2004, Nature Conservation Centre works for the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of natural resources including soil and water.
Global Soil Partnership, which was established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 2012, is a platform aiming at building cooperation for sustainable use of soil at local, national, regional and global levels. The platform works on a voluntary basis and members include a wide array of stakeholders including public institutions, civil society organizations, research centres, farmer organizations and the private sector. As a member of the Global Soil Partnership, Nature Conservation Centre will be sharing its know-how on sustainable land management, efficient irrigation techniques, adaptation of agricultural practices to climate change etc. and hopes to integrate successful examples in other countries into local practices.

- Promoting sustainable management of soil resources.
- Encouraging investment, technical cooperation, policy, education awareness and extension in soils.
- Promoting targeted soil research and development focusing on identified gaps and priorities.
- Enhancing the quantity and quality of soil and information.
- Supporting harmonization of methods, measurements and indicators for sustainable soil management, with a national validation that takes into account. the differences of production systems and ecosystems.
