Summary Of Project:

Turkey’s Plants Red List Project aims at carrying out the red list assessments of Turkey’s endemic plants (and selected others) following the standards of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Through this project, the threat status of Turkey’s endemic plants will be assessed. DKM experts will share with the project their know-how and expertise on the red list assessments. Through this project, DKM will (i) support the development of a database in the project, (ii) coordinate the preparation of the spatial data layer in the proper formats, (iii) support the international communication with IUCN throughout the project to ensure adoption of the project results at the international level. Through this project, for the first time, a red list assessment will be done by following the international guidelines. The outcomes of this project will also be an important source of information towards the conservation projects on plants in Turkey.
