Summary Of Project:
The Karpaz Peninsula is one of the best protected and pristine regions of Cyprus.
DKM carried out a detailed study on the peninsula followed by extensive data analysis to identify the values and threats in order to be to develop a sustainable process for achieving conservation and development.
A report presenting a baseline of the area’s physical, biological and socio-economic environment was developed. The report has become a guiding strategy document for the process to include the Karpaz Peninsula in the Natura 2000 network (Ecologıcal network of protected areas in the EU).
Objectives:
- assess the environmental and socio-economic status of the Karpaz Peninsula, Cyprus.
